The science of precision prevention of cancer

TLO-JULY2017.jpgPrecision medicine has been defined as a "revolutionary approach for disease prevention and treatment that takes into account individual differences in lifestyle, environment, and biology". In a Comment published in The Lancet Oncology, Dr Paolo Vineis of Imperial College London and Dr Christopher P. Wild, Director of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), raise some key considerations relating to the development of a science of precision prevention of cancer.
